Ugly Vervain

Still another character collage from the "Watership Down" TV series, this is Vervain, General Woundwort's lackey. Cold, cruel, and sadistic, not to mention cowardly, vindictive, and paranoid, Vervain likens himself to being the General's right-hand man even though that position is held with esteem by Captain Campion, Vervain's immediate superior and his rival as well. After the destruction of Efrafa, Vervain is so hated by everyone that he cannot be assimilated into Watership Down like the other Efrafans (Moss, Heather, and Vervain's two hulking bodyguards), so he sticks with Woundwort and helps him take over Redstone, among other henchman-type duties.
